Winter starts proper this week. Sure we get cold

Winter starts proper this week.

Sure we get cold snaps and the whole lack of daylight thing can make December feel pretty grim but January takes it to another level. With a big arse storm incoming tomorrow you can expect the water temp to now drop to that level where it feels like someone is smashing your face into an ice bucket every time you duck dive. There's also going to be some brutal wind chill accompanying it which will blast through those eight layers of clothing you've put on for the day like they were paper.

This snow on the beach scenario at Cromer was taken during one of these stormy spells. I remember taking my hand out of my glove to try and sort something on the camera and within seconds having hot aches in my hands! 😂😂 Ultimately this storm has become my benchmark for what truly is a proper winters day.
