Lincolnshire: fields of gold, spiced british staple, chocolate barrels

Due to their intertwined history Scandinavian influence runs deep in the English county of Lincolnshire which can be seen in the numerous names of settlements using Viking terminology.

Both areas also border a cold unruly chunk of water called the North Sea where over the decades surf culture has emerged along its length and breadth. Like their Scandinavian brethren the Lincolnshire surfers who ride its waves  are hardy individuals who are not afraid to brave the sometimes extreme conditions to fuel their stoke. Although surfing here doesn’t come easy, when the conditions do align the feeling experienced is the same as anywhere else… Damn fun!

Ægir Collective aims to chronicle the past, present & future of the Lincolnshire surfing lifestyle. It will showcase some of the sessions that go down in our waters and also tell the stories of some of the characters that over the years have graced its waves.
